Installation steps
1. Preparation
Subsurfaces must have sufficient stability and be dry, level and free of dust, silicone and grease. Brush off subsurfaces; if necessary, clean with a vacuum cleaner and wipe down.
2. Taping of facade membranes on the exterior
For non-visible taping and joints for breather (WRB) membranes installed behind open-jointed cladding (e.g. SOLITEX FRONTA QUATTRO), centre TESCON INVIS on the strip overlap, roll it out and gradually stick in place.
3. Rub the tape firmly to secure the adhesive bond
Rub the adhesive joints firmly. Ensure that there is sufficient resistance pressure. This step can be carried out more efficiently and in a manner that is kinder to the hands by using the PRESSFIX application tool.
4. Alternative: Adhesive joints using DUPLEX
DUPLEX can be applied inside the overlap. Lift up the upper membrane strip, apply DUPLEX to one side, gradually remove the release film and stick in place. Rub the firmly with the pro clima PRESSFIX application tool. Ensure that there is sufficient resistance pressure.
5a. Sealing at ground slab
Joints with the ground slab or other mineral or rough subsurfaces can be implemented using the ORCON F joint adhesive. Clean the subsurface. Apply a line of adhesive that is approx. 5 mm (3/16") thick (more in the case of uneven subsurfaces, if necessary).
5b. Sealing at ground slab
Place the membrane strip onto the adhesive bed. Do not press the adhesive completely flat so as to allow for relative motion between components.
6a. Joints with OSB/planed wood
To implement windproof joints between facade membranes and smooth, non-mineral subsurfaces such as wood-based panels or planed wood, centre TESCON INVIS on the joint and gradually stick it in place.
6b. Joints with unplaned wood
Use ORCON F joint adhesive on unplaned beams, rafters or purlins. Apply a line of ORCON F that is approx. 5 mm (3/16") thick. Use a thicker line of adhesive on rough subsurfaces, if necessary.
7. Taping of underlay panels (MDF)
Underlay panels made of MDF can be taped using TESCON INVIS. Centre the tape on the panel joint, roll it out and gradually stick it in place. Rub firmly using the pro clima PRESSFIX application tool to secure the adhesive bond. Ensure that there is sufficient resistance pressure. Wood-fibre insulation panels should be treated with TESCON PRIMER.
8. Detail solution for window joints
Stick the membrane to the window frame in a windproof and waterproof manner using the TESCON INVIS all-round adhesive tape. Rub firmly using the pro clima PRESSFIX application tool to secure the adhesive bond.
9a. Detail solution for cable feed-throughs
Seal round cable feed-throughs with ROFLEX/KAFLEX grommets. The cable grommets are self-adhesive. Apply TESCON INVIS over the TESCON VANA tape. Stick the pipe grommets to the subsurface in an airtight manner using TESCON INVIS. Rub firmly using the pro clima PRESSFIX application tool to secure the adhesive bond. Ensure that there is sufficient resistance pressure.
9b. Detail solution for beam/joist penetrations
Windproof and waterproof joints with (planed) beams can be achieved using TESCON INVIS. Sticking sequence: 1. Bottom, 2. Left and right, 3. Top. Joints with rough subsurfaces can be implemented using ORCON F.
